Job Overview
As a Software Engineer II, you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support. You’ll help design high-quality software solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with Mastercard’s standards.
Responsibilities
Program, test, implement, document, maintain, and support software systems in compliance with Mastercard standards and best practices.
Develop scalable and secure software solutions based on technical specifications and expected delivery timelines.
Research, evaluate, and propose alternative technical solutions to address evolving business needs and technologies.
Perform feasibility analysis, logic design, system flowcharting, and cost-time analysis.
Collaborate with project teams to meet deadlines, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
Independently perform assigned development and support tasks, including incident management.
Participate in on-call rotation for production support.
Document software code according to Mastercard’s development best practices.
Assist senior team members in updating project documentation templates.
Contribute to process improvements and help enforce standards.
Support collection, tracking, and reporting of software and project metrics.
Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Required Experience & Skills
2–4 years of experience in software development.
Thorough understanding of software engineering concepts and agile methodologies.
Must exhibit Mastercard Core Competencies (MC Core).
High energy, detail-oriented, and proactive work style with the ability to work independently under pressure.
Demonstrated initiative, self-motivation, and ability to take on challenging tasks.
Strong communication skills—both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in geographically distributed teams and matrix environments.
Strong collaboration and organizational abilities.
