Your Role: Software Engineer at Amgen
In this vital position, you will join a dynamic team to develop, maintain, and enhance full-stack web, UI, data, and AI applications on platforms like Databricks and AWS. You’ll ensure the infrastructure is secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs while contributing to innovative projects in cloud services and software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support full-stack applications, including UI, data, and AI components, using Databricks and AWS.
- Optimize AWS and Databricks infrastructure for top-tier performance.
- Create clear, concise documentation for both new and existing features to ensure seamless handovers.
- Collaborate with team members to transform project requirements into functional technical designs.
- Conduct peer code reviews and develop unit tests, ensuring high-quality, maintainable code.
- Identify opportunities to automate tasks and create reusable frameworks.
- Work in an Agile development environment to drive projects forward.
- Utilize tools like GIT, Jenkins, and CI/CD for code versioning and deployment.
- Continuously adapt to the latest technologies and practices in cloud services, automation, and secure software development.
What We Expect From You
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 0-1 years of relevant experience OR
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering with 1-3 years of relevant experience OR
- Diploma with 5+ years of relevant work experience.
Required Skills
- Experience in full-stack application development.
- Proficiency in API development and use of DevOps and CI/CD practices.
- Hands-on experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
- Proficiency in programming languages like SQL, Python, Java.
- Familiarity with UI frameworks such as Angular.js or React.js.
- Experience with AWS and familiarity with Jira or Rally.
Desired Skills
- Familiarity with AI tools for development, such as GitHub Copilot, Databricks Assistant, and Amazon Q Developer.
- Strong background in software engineering best practices (version control, CI/CD, automated unit testing).
- Experience with Databricks or Azure cloud services and infrastructure as code.
Soft Skills
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English), able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
