Role Overview:

Telstra is seeking a skilled Software Engineer to join its Bangalore team. In this role, you will design and deliver innovative software products using modern microservices architecture and cloud-native technologies. The position offers a dynamic opportunity to work in agile teams focused on delivering high-impact solutions for customers.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to transform epics into product features and technical deliverables.

  2. Design, develop, test, and deploy robust microservices using Spring Boot and Java 8+.

  3. Build and maintain containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.

  4. Work with AWS cloud services like Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, and Kinesis.

  5. Develop and maintain APIs and ensure secure, scalable integrations using tools like APIGEE or Nginx.

  6. Manage code using Git and CI/CD pipelines via GitLab CI, Bamboo, or Jenkins.

  7. Perform production support, monitoring, and debugging using observability tools like New Relic, Splunk, or Datadog.

  8. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a T-shaped agile development team.

  9. Follow best practices in code versioning, branching strategies, and design patterns.


Technical Requirements:

  1. 4+ years of experience in software development with agile methodologies.

  2. Proficient in Java 8+, Spring Boot, and microservices design.

  3. Working knowledge of JavaScript and optionally Python or Node.js.

  4. Strong database skills in SQL and NoSQL environments.

  5. Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.

  6. Proficient in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.

  7. Hands-on experience with version control systems and branching strategies.


Preferred Skills:

  1. Experience with observability tools such as New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, or ELK stack.

  2. API gateway knowledge (e.g., APIGEE or Nginx).

  3. Background in production support and incident resolution.

  4. Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven designs.
