Role Description
Salesforce is hiring Software Architects across various teams. This strategic role requires strong technical expertise, analytical thinking, and the ability to influence at all levels of the engineering organization. As a cross-functional leader, the Architect will align technical vision with business goals, working closely with other software architects and engineering leadership to build scalable and secure SaaS systems.
Your Impact
Define and drive software architecture and enterprise capabilities such as scalability, fault tolerance, maintainability, and extensibility.
Independently design complex, high-end software systems.
Establish architectural principles, frameworks, and coding standards.
Collaborate closely with teams such as security, operations, and DevOps in a consultative capacity.
Provide leadership and guidance to engineering, QA, and product teams.
Lead research, build prototypes, and evaluate new and emerging technologies.
Own and oversee architecture for assigned systems.
Provide feedback on product strategy and technical direction.
Work with principal architects and CTOs to define the organization’s architectural vision and roadmap.
Drive design strategies that span multiple projects and communicate those through reports and presentations.
Foster an environment that promotes collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Mentor junior engineers to help grow architectural understanding and technical depth.
Required Skills
Mastery of multiple programming languages and development platforms.
15+ years of hands-on software development experience.
Proven ability to independently deliver large, complex software projects.
Strong mentoring capabilities for technical team members.
Experience with Agile development methodologies (e.g., Scrum).
Ability to collaborate with senior architects and technology officers to develop vision and roadmaps.
Expertise in resolving complex performance and scalability issues.
Strategic thinking with the ability to drive design decisions across several projects.
Strong communication skills to enable open discussion, problem-solving, and collaboration across teams.
Experience with product releases in short cycles and throughout the full software lifecycle.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field.
