About the Role
Amgen is seeking a Specialist Software Engineer – ICSR Intake to design, develop, and deploy applications that support pharmacovigilance systems. In this role, you will work with cutting-edge technologies, including AI and machine learning, to enhance data reconciliation, process automation, and decision-making. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system scalability and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pharmacovigilance applications for adverse event and product complaint management.
- Enhance E2E data reconciliation for consistency and accuracy.
- Implement generative AI and large language models (LLMs) for automation and decision-making.
- Conduct rapid prototyping and translate concepts into working code.
- Perform code reviews and ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Create and maintain software architecture, design, and deployment documentation.
- Collaborate with teams to enhance drug safety systems and identify process automation opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with Information Systems Change Control and GxP validation processes.
- Work with vendors to resolve Pharmacovigilance systems-related technical issues.
Qualifications & Experience
Basic Qualifications
- Master’s degree with 4–6 years of experience in Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree with 6–8 years of experience.
- Diploma with 10–12 years of experience.
Must-Have Skills
- Expertise in SQL, Databricks, and data modeling.
- Experience with Tableau and Power BI for reporting.
- Proficiency in Java or Python programming.
- Strong problem-solving skills and AI/ML knowledge.
- Experience with API integrations (e.g., MuleSoft) and ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Databricks).
- Knowledge of ITIL processes and SDLC best practices.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional team.
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with COTS Pharmacovigilance Platforms (e.g., Argus).
- Familiarity with GxP systems and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure).
- DevOps experience.
- SAFe Agile Software Engineering certification (preferred).
Work Schedule
- This role requires flexibility, including evening or night shifts, based on business needs.
