Role Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced VMware Systems Administrator with extensive expertise in managing large-scale, geographically dispersed enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess robust skills in Windows server management, VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi Host, and VMware Site Recovery. This role involves planning, implementing, and maintaining a scalable virtual infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• VMware Infrastructure Management:

  • Install, configure, and manage a highly available and scalable virtual infrastructure based on VMware technologies.
  • Administer VMware ESXi hosts, including cluster management and site recovery.
  • Upgrade and maintain ESXi hosts and virtual machines (VMs) using VMware Update Manager.

• System Administration:

  • Provide comprehensive support for VMware components, including vSphere, vCenter, and VMware Site Recovery Manager.
  • Manage VMware components such as vCenter Operations Manager, vCenter Orchestrator, and vCenter Cloud Automation Center.

• Virtualization and Consolidation:

  • Lead server consolidation and virtualization efforts for hardware reduction and site migrations (V2V and P2V).
  • Ensure best practices are followed for installation, configuration, and administration in a large environment.

• Collaboration and Support:

  • Collaborate with remote technical teams and vendors to resolve issues and implement new solutions.
  • Utilize ticket management systems to prioritize and manage daily workload and support tasks.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Technical Expertise:

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with VMware technologies, including ESXi hosts, vCenter, and vSphere.
  • In-depth knowledge of VMware Site Recovery, VMware Update Manager, and other related VMware components.
  • Proven experience in server consolidation, virtualization, and migration using V2V and P2V.

• Administrative Skills:

  • Experience with installing, configuring, and managing VMware infrastructure in large environments.
  • Proficient in using ticket management systems for task prioritization and workload management.

• Communication and Collaboration:

  • Ability to work effectively with various levels of technical individuals and vendors.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to managing and resolving technical issues.
