Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Graduate Programmer Analyst with up to 2 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Spring Boot, Java, and related technologies. This role involves contributing to new product development, delivering superior engineering outcomes, and supporting the growth and development of team members.

Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree.
  • Community Career Lattice: Understand and articulate the community career lattice to team members.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Demonstrate a commitment to diversity and inclusion in all professional interactions, and proactively address any observable deviations.
  • Recruitment Efforts: Take deliberate actions to enhance team diversity during recruitment. Participate in college recruitment, summer programs, hackathons, and job fairs to attract new talent.
  • Community Engagement: Organize educational, inspiring, and bonding events (both in-person and virtual) and facilitate mentorship within the community.
  • Hiring and Retention: Conduct hiring discussions, identify potential retention risks, and implement mitigation measures. Develop evaluation criteria for recruitment.
  • Brand Positioning: Mentor the team on community brand positioning and engage in external brand positioning activities.
  • People Management: Report deviations from people practices, conduct people management processes with fairness and transparency, and contribute to designing and establishing people management processes.

KRA-2: Delivering Superior Engineering Outcomes

  • Role and Project Expectations: Elicit and explain role and project expectations to stakeholders.
  • Competency Mapping: Understand your role’s competency and proficiency expectations and address any gaps identified through performance feedback.
  • Team Performance: Regularly evaluate and track team performance, providing necessary feedback and guidance to ensure project goals are met.
  • Knowledge Management: Lead the development of a knowledge management repository and leverage community capabilities as needed.
  • Commitments and Metrics: Make practical commitments, identify dependencies and risks, and ensure that your commitments are honored. Review engineering metrics with managers to ensure alignment with project and customer goals.
  • Feedback and Recognition: Provide honest, consistent feedback to peers and team members, encourage participation in feedback courses, and recognize and nominate team members for awards.

KRA-3: Fostering Strong Competency

  • Enablement Needs: Identify and address the enablement needs of the team under direct supervision.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Lead knowledge sharing sessions and work with enablement teams to tailor programs relevant to team members.
  • Competency Gap Closure: Develop and implement strategies to address competency gaps and help team members explore career opportunities within Cognizant.
  • Experience Building: Facilitate team participation in various experience-building forums.

KRA-4: Operating Efficiently

  • Skill Profiles: Keep your skill profile and resume current. Manage interview panel rosters and track hiring progress.
  • Induction and Support: Prepare induction materials for new joiners and assist with their integration into the community.
  • Rotation and Upskilling: Discuss rotation opportunities with your HCM supervisor and upskill yourself to remain eligible for rotation.
  • Performance Management: Resolve conflicts transparently, drive performance management processes, and ensure timely and appropriate rewards.
  • Mentoring: Mentor your team to maintain accurate skill profiles and contribute to talent profiling frameworks.

KRA-5: Building Strong Organizational Interconnects

  • Career Tracks: Facilitate discussions on team members’ capabilities and ambitions for moving to different career tracks.

KRA-6: Building Engineering Mindshare

  • Reusable Assets: Identify and contribute to creating reusable assets.
  • Publications: Contribute to white papers, experience papers, and case studies under guidance.
