Position Overview:
We are looking for skilled IBM I Series/AS400 Professionals, specifically a Programmer/RPG Developer, who will be responsible for the design, development, deployment, and implementation of secure code. This role involves collaboration with internal teams, clients, and vendors to understand and fulfill design and architecture requirements for IBM Power Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, deploy, and implement secure code adhering to industry-approved coding practices.
- Maintain existing application code and develop enhancements as needed.
- Engage with clients to gather requirements, create design documents, and walk through design concepts.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency in relevant languages and development tools, with knowledge of distributed processing being essential.
Experience Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in a programmer or programmer/analyst role within an IBMi environment.
- Familiarity with the Healthcare and Manufacturing domains.
- Ability to create sub-procedures, JSON, and service programs.
- Strong technical knowledge in Integrated Language Environment (ILE), free-format RPG, SQLRPGLE, and subfiles.
- Knowledge of software development methodologies, programming design, and systems management (Aldon).
- Extensive experience with core software applications for the IBM iSeries.
- Experience with EDI tools is a plus.
- Proficiency in iSeries Navigator and Integrated File System (IFS).
- Familiarity with SEU, PDM, DFU, and spool files.
