Job Summary
Cognizant is looking for a Technical Lead with strong backend development skills across Java 11, Spring Boot, Microservices, and data engineering tools like SQL Server, Kafka, and ETL. The ideal candidate must bring experience in the Asset & Wealth Management domain and be proficient in modern software engineering practices and tools.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, design, and development of scalable backend applications using Java 11, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
Implement RESTful Web Services and ensure seamless integration with internal and third-party systems.
Guide and mentor junior developers, ensuring adherence to best coding practices.
Gather, refine, and analyze business requirements in collaboration with stakeholders from the Asset & Wealth Management domain.
Design and optimize data workflows using ETL tools and techniques.
Manage databases using SQL Server and write complex queries and stored procedures in PL/SQL.
Integrate Kafka for reliable and real-time messaging across applications.
Work on web development using Spring MVC, Spring Core, Hibernate, and Java Persistence API.
Utilize Python for scripting and automation of backend tasks where required.
Perform code reviews, troubleshoot bugs, and implement fixes across modules.
Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of backend systems.
Stay current with emerging technologies and propose solutions to enhance architecture.
Drive process improvement and adoption of agile and DevOps methodologies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Strong hands-on experience in Java 11, Spring Boot, Microservices, Core Java, Spring Core, Spring MVC, and Hibernate.
Expertise in SQL Server, PL/SQL, and experience with ETL pipelines.
Proficiency in Kafka for distributed messaging.
Solid knowledge of REST APIs and Java Persistence API (JPA).
Good working knowledge of Python for scripting and automation.
Previous experience in the Asset & Wealth Management domain is mandatory.
Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Comfortable working in a hybrid work model with self-motivation.
Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing technology landscapes.
