Job Description:

As an R&D Engineer at Valeo, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining state-of-the-art NLP (Natural Language Processing) and Machine Learning solutions tailored to our specific needs. You will work with cutting-edge models like Gemini, Palm, Claude, Llama-2, GPT-4all, and others. The role involves collaborating with data teams to understand data structures and needs, conducting rigorous training and validation of models, and ensuring optimal performance across applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model Development & Optimization:
  Implement and fine-tune state-of-the-art models (including LLMs) and continuously improve their performance.

• Collaboration with Data Teams:
  Work with data engineers and analysts to interpret data and align machine learning solutions with business objectives.

• Training & Validation:
  Conduct rigorous model training, validation, and testing to ensure models meet performance requirements.

• Staying Current:
  Keep up to date with the latest trends in Machine Learning, NLP, and Generative AI, integrating new research and methodologies into existing systems.

• Cross-Team Integration:
  Work with other technical teams to integrate AI and NLP solutions into broader systems and platforms.

Skills Required:

• NLP & NLG: Proficiency in Spacy, BERT, Topic Modeling, Named Entity Recognition, POS tagging, and other NLP techniques.

• Generative AI & LLMs: Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) like Gemini, Palm, Claude, Llama-2, GPT-4all.

• Machine Learning Algorithms: Familiarity with text vectorization, multi-class classification, and various ML algorithms.

• Data Pipelines:

  • Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple formats (Excel, CSV, TXT, PDF, etc.).
  • Ensure high-quality data for model training and project goals.

• Proof of Concepts (PoCs):

  • Create rapid PoCs using frameworks like Streamlit, Flask, etc.
  • Manage version control and functionality of PoCs.
  • Support deployment teams to transition PoCs into production.
