About the Role

The VP, Engineering, Industries brings deep expertise in business, industry, and product knowledge to lead engineering teams that ensure Salesforce customer success. This leadership role focuses on specialized clouds or industry segments, building trusted customer relationships and helping clients achieve measurable digital transformation outcomes.

As a technically strong and passionate leader, you’ll manage high-performing software engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and innovation-driven environment. You will ensure code quality, operational excellence, and professional growth across your teams.


Primary Responsibilities

  1. Implement best engineering management and organizational development practices to support scaling teams and operations.

  2. Build and nurture a world-class engineering team through hiring, mentorship, and team-building strategies.

  3. Foster professional growth by offering mentoring, internal/external training, and development opportunities.

  4. Represent your cloud functionally and strategically in regional senior leadership teams.

  5. Build strong partnerships with key local business units and support functions.

  6. Drive continuous improvement across systems, documentation, staffing, and engineering project reviews.

  7. Guide and mentor engineering team members to success, while remaining ready to get hands-on when necessary.


Minimum Requirements

  1. 20+ years of overall experience in the software engineering domain.

  2. At least 10 years of experience as a hands-on software development manager.

  3. 6+ years of experience in engineering leadership with a proven record of delivering high-quality software products or features.

  4. 3+ years of experience in second or third-level cross-functional management roles.

  5. Demonstrated success in building, leading, and scaling high-performance technical teams.

  6. Proven ability to coach and mentor engineers through career growth and technical development.

  7. Ability to clearly represent operational and strategic issues to senior leadership while being technically detail-oriented.

  8. Strong prioritization and communication skills in fast-paced environments.

  9. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
