We are looking for a Wi-Fi Software Development Lead Engineer to join Intel’s Wi-Fi India Development Group (IDG). In this role, you will lead the design, development, debugging, and maintenance of Wi-Fi software (Linux/Windows Drivers and Firmware) based on IEEE 802.11 standards. You will also technically lead a small team of engineers to deliver high-quality software for Intel’s latest Wi-Fi silicon, driving innovation and stability across platforms.
Design, develop, debug, and maintain Wi-Fi software solutions for both host and hardware platforms.
Lead a small team of engineers to deliver complex Wi-Fi software features with high quality.
Translate system-level requirements into low-level design and ensure proper implementation and unit testing.
Work on Linux or Windows drivers, or firmware, with emphasis on embedded C programming.
Debug complex issues on both host and target platforms.
Enhance testing coverage by developing new test scenarios.
Continuously improve software practices and contribute to legacy and new-generation Wi-Fi software optimization.
Collaborate with system engineers, architects, and global teams to align on design and development objectives.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in ECE, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum 12 years of experience in software engineering, specifically in embedded C programming.
Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering complex features.
Strong C programming and debugging skills in embedded systems.
Hands-on experience with Wi-Fi software development—Linux driver, Windows driver, or firmware.
Experience with kernel device driver development is a strong advantage.
Proficient in Python programming for scripting and test automation.
Strong skills in interpreting system requirements and translating them to design and implementation.
Familiarity with tools like Git, Gerrit, and other configuration/code management systems.
Strong communication and presentation skills with ability to engage cross-functional and global teams.
Self-driven, fast learner, and adaptable to dynamic wireless ecosystem changes.
