Role Overview:
As an Avaloq Developer at Barclays, you will contribute to building and maintaining scalable core banking systems, leveraging your Oracle PL/SQL and Avaloq scripting expertise. You will collaborate across teams to implement solutions that meet business needs while ensuring performance, security, and compliance standards are upheld.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and enhance solutions using Oracle PL/SQL and Avaloq script within the Avaloq core banking platform.
Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable software solutions.
Participate in the full software development lifecycle including analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Troubleshoot production issues and ensure continuous availability of banking systems.
Maintain and improve existing codebase with a focus on performance and scalability.
Implement unit testing and support integration testing phases.
Adhere to secure coding practices and internal compliance requirements.
Work closely with global support and development teams to ensure project success.
Technical Requirements:
Strong hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL.
Working knowledge of Avaloq script (preferred) or other core banking solutions such as Finacle, T24, or BaNCS.
Proficiency in UNIX environments, Agile Central, and version control tools such as SVN.
Understanding of SDLC processes in large IT organizations, especially in mission-critical systems.
Exposure to financial modules like securities, trading, order management, settlements, payments, and corporate actions.
Preferred Skills:
Familiarity with Agile tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
Experience in financial services with knowledge of core banking operations.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional, global environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
