Role Overview:
As an Avaloq Lead Developer at Barclays, you will be instrumental in shaping and delivering core banking solutions. You'll apply expert-level knowledge in Oracle PL/SQL and Avaloq scripting to solve complex problems and enhance mission-critical systems. In this leadership role, you will also guide a technical team, collaborate across departments, and ensure compliance with best practices in financial technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop scalable banking solutions using Oracle PL/SQL and Avaloq script.
Lead and mentor a team of developers, ensuring quality delivery aligned with business goals.
Engage in problem-solving, debugging, and support for complex core banking systems.
Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality applications.
Support production environments with a deep understanding of batch processes and systems integration.
Apply knowledge of SDLC and Agile frameworks to deliver secure and reliable software.
Maintain detailed documentation, technical specifications, and system diagrams.
Guide decision-making processes and contribute to policy development at the AVP level.
Technical Requirements:
Extensive experience with Oracle PL/SQL and Avaloq scripting in banking environments.
Proficiency in UNIX, Agile Central, SVN, and batch-based architecture.
Working knowledge of Avaloq core banking or similar platforms like Finacle, T24, or BaNCS.
Hands-on experience with modules like security trading, order management, settlements, corporate actions, credit, and payments.
Strong understanding of software development life cycle and secure coding practices.
Preferred Skills:
Prior leadership experience in Private Banking or IT transformation programs.
Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, Visio, ServiceNow, and Agile practices.
Strong analytical thinking and the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Ability to influence decision-makers and resolve escalated issues with composure.
Demonstrated experience in risk mitigation and compliance initiatives in financial services.
