Role Overview:
As a Developer at Barclays, you will play a vital role in building and enhancing digital solutions to improve customer and business experiences.
You will be responsible for full-stack development, working across backend, frontend, and database layers.
You will collaborate with engineers, designers, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure software systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop applications using Microsoft .Net, C#, ASP.Net MVC, Web API, and DotNet Core.
Implement and maintain RESTful services for system integration.
Build user interfaces using JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
Develop database solutions including schema design, SQL Server, SSIS, and stored procedures.
Follow best practices like object-oriented analysis, design patterns, unit testing, and continuous integration.
Participate in Agile development processes, including daily scrums and sprint reviews.
Ensure that solutions are scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
Contribute to code reviews and team knowledge sharing.
Additional Responsibilities:
Write clean, testable, and secure code that meets enterprise development standards.
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and designers to define software requirements.
Stay updated with technology trends and contribute to internal tech forums and communities.
Follow secure coding practices to protect data and system integrity.
Implement effective unit testing to ensure code quality and maintainability.
Technical Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of experience in software development using .Net technologies.
Proficiency in C#, ASP.Net MVC, DotNet Core, Web Services, and Web API.
Strong skills in JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, and CSS3.
Hands-on experience with SQL Server, SSIS, and stored procedures.
Familiarity with pricing models and financial product workflows.
Solid foundation in OOAD, design patterns, and Agile processes.
Experience with automated testing and continuous integration tools.
Knowledge of deployment and development practices supporting CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of OpenShift or other cloud-based deployment environments.
Familiarity with modern UI frameworks and responsive design.
Experience in financial services or the Wholesale Lending domain.
