As a Java Tech Lead at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing infrastructure platforms that ensure reliability, scalability, and security for enterprise-wide systems. This position involves building robust workflows and integrations in OpenText PPM, leading engineering initiatives, and applying DevOps and automation best practices across environments.
Design, develop, and customize workflows, reports, and portlets in OpenText PPM, integrating with backend systems using REST APIs.
Build and maintain Java-based infrastructure tools using technologies like JSP, Oracle PL/SQL, and JavaScript.
Drive DevOps practices using GitLab/GitHub and contribute to automation, observability, and deployment standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and guide teams in engineering best practices and incident response strategies.
Ensure systems are secure and adhere to compliance through proactive monitoring and configuration hardening.
Participate in infrastructure strategy discussions and contribute to architectural design and roadmap planning.
Provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals.
8–12 years of experience in Java development, Oracle PL/SQL, and enterprise tool customization (preferably OpenText PPM).
Hands-on experience in DevOps tools (GitLab/GitHub), API integrations, and observability platforms (e.g., ELK stack); familiarity with Red Hat Linux and container technologies is a plus.
Strong experience with Java, JSP, PL/SQL, JavaScript, and REST APIs.
Proficient in OpenText/Micro Focus/HP PPM development.
Deep understanding of PPM data model and functional modules.
Solid grasp of DevOps practices, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
Working knowledge of infrastructure security and incident management.
Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., ELK) and Red Hat Linux.
Strong understanding of network concepts and API-based integration.
