Join Barclays as a Senior Base24 Software Engineer, where you’ll take the lead in transforming critical payment and transaction systems. You will design, build, and optimize highly available ATM and POS infrastructure, leveraging ACI Base24 and advanced transaction processing. This role is perfect for engineers passionate about innovation in the cards and payments domain.
Develop and maintain applications using TAL, COBOL, SCOBOL, and TACL.
Lead development on ACI Base24 Classic ATM and POS transaction systems.
Integrate and optimize transaction flow with Visa, BNET, and LINK schemes.
Support EMV and NDC processing requirements.
Utilize simulators like VersaTest and tools for ISO8583 message formatting.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver quality solutions.
Optimize and troubleshoot transaction flows across Base24 and related platforms.
Participate in secure coding practices, code reviews, and agile ceremonies.
Strong experience in ACI Base24 Classic for ATM and POS.
Proficient in TAL, COBOL, SCOBOL, and TACL programming.
Deep understanding of cards and payment systems, including transaction routing and processing.
Hands-on with Visa, BNET, LINK, and EMV/NDC message formats.
Skilled in using ISO8583, VersaTest, and other testing tools.
Familiar with Shadowbase or other replication technologies.
Experience with ACI Base24 TSS and FHM transactions.
Familiar with modern version control and CI/CD tools such as GitLab or Bitbucket.
Experience in banking project implementations.
Exposure to Mastercard or VTS simulators.
Knowledge of Active:Active architecture in high-availability systems.
Solid grasp of Agile methodologies and DevOps tools.
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
