Key Responsibilities
Architect, design, and implement modern distributed systems aligned with cloud-first strategies.
Create robust solution designs that fulfill both technical and business requirements.
Design and guide implementation of REST APIs, microservices, and scalable digital platforms.
Ensure alignment of solution designs with modern software engineering principles and best practices.
Identify workload placement strategies leveraging containerization, serverless, and elasticity in AWS/Azure.
Incorporate enterprise security standards and ensure system resilience and compliance.
Lead fault analysis, performance tuning, and capacity impact assessment.
Produce architectural artefacts as part of the governance and design review process.
Guide and collaborate with engineering and DevOps teams through the project lifecycle.
Influence product decisions and engage stakeholders across technology and business divisions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Strong experience designing and architecting enterprise-grade systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
Proficiency in designing scalable microservices, REST APIs, and cloud-native solutions.
Experience communicating technical concepts to leadership, engineering, and product teams.
Hands-on software development background using varied programming paradigms and languages.
Familiarity with security-first design principles and cloud infrastructure governance.
Ability to manage technical product selection, conduct PoCs, and evaluate emerging tech.
Understanding of resiliency, cost optimization, and workload placement strategies.
Preferred Skills
Domain expertise in Financial Services, Digital Banking, Cards, Loans, or Payments.
Experience architecting mobile apps and digital channels hosted on public cloud platforms.
Knowledge of agile methodologies, DevSecOps, and continuous delivery practices.
Leadership experience in collaborative assignments or project guidance.
Familiarity with governance, compliance, and architecture review processes.
Assistant Vice President (AVP) Level Expectations
Advise on complex technical decisions and influence policy development.
Lead teams executing complex architecture and engineering tasks.
Set and monitor goals, coach junior engineers, and manage delivery expectations.
Represent architecture in cross-functional forums and project strategy sessions.
Ensure risk mitigation, quality assurance, and technical integrity of solutions.
Collaborate with leaders across functions to align architecture with business outcomes.
