Role Overview
As a Lead SDET, you will be responsible for architecting, designing, and delivering advanced test automation frameworks. You’ll guide QA practices across teams working on cutting-edge platforms in computer vision, ML, sensor fusion, and vehicle analytics. You will also serve as a mentor and technical leader for quality initiatives.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, document, and maintain automation tools and test frameworks for current and next-generation platforms.
Collaborate with Product Management, DevOps, and Engineering teams for test planning and execution.
Interpret functional requirements to create, automate, and execute comprehensive test plans.
Drive the design of testable applications, systems, and data models by providing early feedback.
Ensure quality, performance, and reliability from day one of development.
Work actively as part of Agile scrum teams ensuring technical alignment.
Document and communicate automation frameworks, interfaces, and results to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Estimate task efforts, plan milestones, and deliver according to agreed timelines.
Manage defect life cycles from identification through resolution and verification.
Collaborate closely with development teams on unit test design, defect diagnosis, and issue resolution.
Lead or assist in data analysis and root cause identification of inconsistencies or issues.
Drive the technical vision of the assigned QA product area.
Train QA and development engineers on modern tools, frameworks, and technologies.
Mentor team members to support technical growth and foster innovation.
Identify inefficiencies and implement solutions to boost quality and automation.
Research and conduct POCs for new tools or methods to solve product challenges.
What You’ll Bring
Must Have
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or 10+ years of experience in software/test engineering roles.
8+ years of professional experience in an object-oriented programming language (e.g., C#, Java).
Experience across the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including source control, testing, and review processes.
Strong hands-on experience developing test automation in C# or Java.
Expertise with test libraries like Selenium and Appium.
Proven experience in developing and testing mobile apps (iOS/Android).
Skilled in designing and scaling test automation frameworks for performance, maintainability, and scalability.
Ability to build and implement end-to-end test strategies.
Prior experience working in Agile environments.
Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels.
A proactive problem-solving mindset with a keen ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
Nice to Have
Experience integrating test automation into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Linux).
Hands-on knowledge of microservice architecture testing.
Experience in API testing and backend validation.
Familiarity with various CI/CD tools.
