Para Jumbles

           Para Jumbles:

Parajumbles are a type of question commonly found in verbal ability tests or exams. They test your ability to rearrange a set of jumbled sentences or paragraphs to form a coherent and logical sequence. Here are a few tips to help you solve parajumbles effectively:

i. Read the sentences carefully: Start by reading the sentences or paragraphs provided. Understand the context and look for any clues or keywords that can help you identify the logical sequence.

ii. Identify the opening and closing sentences: In a paraphrase, there is usually one sentence that can serve as the opening sentence and one that can serve as the closing sentence. Look for statements that introduce or conclude the topic discussed in the remaining sentences.

iii. Identify transitional words or phrases: Look for transitional words or phrases that connect ideas or indicate a chronological order. These include words like "however," "therefore," "on the other hand," "first," "next," "finally," etc. Identifying these transitional elements can help you establish the flow of the paragraph.

iv. Pay attention to pronouns and references: Pronouns like "it," "they," "he," or "she" can provide clues about the relationships between sentences. If a pronoun is used, find the sentence that provides the antecedent or the sentence it refers to.

v. Look for logical connections: Consider the logical flow of ideas and arguments. Look for sentences that provide reasons, examples, or explanations for the statements made in other sentences.

vi. Create a draught sequence: Once you have analysed the sentences, create a draught sequence by rearranging them. This will give you a visual representation of the paragraph's flow and coherence.

vii. Read the paragraph aloud: After rearranging the sentences, read the paragraph aloud to check if it sounds logical and coherent. This can help you identify any inconsistencies or awkward transitions that need further adjustment.

viii. Eliminate incorrect options: In multiple-choice para jumbles, you may have answer options to choose from. Eliminate options that do not fit logically into the sequence you have created. Look for contradictions or a lack of continuity.

ix. Practise solving parajumbles: The more you practise, the better you will become at identifying patterns and logical sequences. Solve parajumbles from previous exams or use online resources to find practise exercises.

Remember, parajumbles require careful analysis and logical thinking. By applying these strategies and practising regularly, you can improve your ability to solve para-jumble questions effectively.
